Our Priorities

We envision a Colorado where healthy and prosperous farms support secure and equitable food systems and resilient rural communities.

Our priorities include

  • Thriving Farms Food Security

A resilient food system includes more than the ability for producers and the community they feed to survive, but the opportunity to prosper and to thrive.

Food security starts with successful farms and liveable incomes for workers, and ensures that nutritious food is acessible to community-members.

  • Nature-Based Solutions and Climate Action

Resilient farms and food systems rely on a healthy environment for water supplies and to mitigate against climate and other disruptions.

The sound management of public lands, and boosting beneficial natural functions on farms are important climate action strategies. Increasing community-centered solar power reduces demand for fossil fuels, strengthens energy security, and helps family farms.

  • Community Engagement Rural Resilience

A resilient community is an engaged community that is economically secure, socially equitable, and ecologically sustainable.

It starts with community-members who are supported, healthy and secure, who are able to participate fully and given opportunities to lead, and who benefit from projects and matters that involve and impact them.
