We need a good Farm Bill

Right now the Farm Bill is years overdue and its prospects are uncertain. But while we agree that a Farm Bill is past overdue, we want to ensure that whatever Congress does to move some Farm Bill priorities forward, it does not undermine the need to address all the Farm Bill priorities, and in a way that supports small- and medium acreage operations, rural communities and greater climate resilience.

Sign our Farm Bill Priorities statement of support - Take a minute to add your name to our statement in support of these priorities in a Farm Bill or any related legislation.

Reinstate funding for rural renewable projects

Dear Congress: You broke it - You fix it. Congress, along party lines, recently voted to eliminate or drastically reduce funding that supports rural and community-based renewable energy projects on farms, for member-owned electric coops, and for grid upgrades.

But rural innovation and home-brown power are not partisan. So please join us in asking Rep. Hurd and Senators Hickenlooper and Bennet to work together to reinstate federal funding for community-solar and rural renewable projects.

Thank you for supporting the GORP Act

Are you a Delta or Montrose County farmer?

Sign up to take our quick survey to help us learn about agriculture in the region and how to better serve operators like you.

Through our Mountain Roots/Healthy Futures AmeriCorps project we are gathering input from individual farmers and ranchers in the region about their operations, regenerative practices, and successes and challenges that they experience.

We have both a quick online survey and an opportunity to participate in a one-on-one interview about your farm and operation. This project is already teaching us important things, and your input is valuable to us.
